- Make sure the real estate agent you select is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, and has full access to their local MLS (Multiple Listing Service). The REALTOR® designation means they take their profession seriously, and without access to the MLS they cannot effectively market your home for sale to other real estate agents/REALTORS®. - Your new real estate agent/REALTOR® should be very active on-line. With the advent of the Internet, the real estate industry has changed significantly over the past decade, and buyers searching for homes don’t search for houses like they used to. Days of buyers trolling down neighborhood streets looking for for sale signs are gone. Buyers have also abandoned newspapers and other real estate magazines as their source for homes on the market. The National Association of REALTORS® have speculated that 80-90% of buyers now use the Internet to search for their next house. We take advantage of everything the Internet has to offer to expose your property to many buyers for the best possible price and a quick sale.
- Ensure that your real estate agent/REALTOR® is competent and honest. There are many types of people in the real estate industry. Unfortunately, some just do not possess the knowledge and/or competence to sell your home or property efficiently. Don’t base your opinion on the agent’s agree-ability. If they tell you what you want to hear only, what valuable information could you be missing?
